Smash Bros. Brawl to Support All Controller Types

When Super Smash Bros. Brawl was first announced for Wii, fans immediately wondered how the game will incorporate the Wii-Mote controller.  Then there was some other internet speculation that the game will solely be controlled with a GameCube controller.  Masahiro Sakurai, director of the game, finally put all these rumors and speculations to rest.

His official blog states, “The Nintendo Wii really is a versatile piece of hardware. I mean, when it comes to controllers, there are pretty much four different types. I guess I have no choice but implement them all!"

While not 100% confirmed, one could assume that these four controller types are: Wii-mote, Wii-mote with nunchuk, the classic game controller, and GameCube controller.

Masahiro then confirmed that each player will be able to use the control style of choice while opponents can simultaneously use a different control scheme.  How the Wii-mote will be used for Smash Attacks and Dashing is still a mystery at this point.
