ZigZag Ball is another mobile game published to the Playstation Store at a low cost by Elantri Games. Like other games in their library, this one-button game doesn’t offer anything more than a 5-minute Platinum trophy.
From the title screen, the game abruptly starts without explanation or direction. Meaning, you will see Game Over immediately. After some frustrating trial and error, the “O” button causes the rolling basketball to pivot in the opposite 45-degree direction. The goal is to guide this auto-rolling ball down a pathway for a long as possible. Sure, it keeps track of score but there is no replay value when there are no options, power-ups, abilities, or even presentation differences.
The low budget presentation extends into the gameplay too. For example, the stage can often fall away faster than the ball can roll, making the streak end through no fault of the player. The one-track looping elevator music and generic visuals do not add to the fun factor either.
Unless you want to cheese an easy Platinum with a low price and minimal work, ZigZag Ball and its one-button gameplay should be avoided.
