Speeder Ship, published by Elantri Games at a low cost on the PSN, is a boring and broken endless tube slide with zero redeeming qualities.
The player is responsible for controlling the ship’s left and right movement around the perimeter of the screen as it auto moves down a tube. Like that TV show Hole-In-The-Wall, randomly spawning barriers must be avoided or it is game over. And, that’s it. There is no way to speed up, sometimes there are long stretches of nothingness, and the music will drive you insane.
The only saving grace of Elantri titles have been the easy-to-unlock Platinum. However, this is not the case with Speeder Ship. Sometimes a numbered coin will appear on the track and collecting it initially unlocks a trophy. However, after gliding down this headache inducing tube for ten minutes, the numbered coins stopped and was unable to progress. I was so bored that I started crashing into the walls on purpose just to do something.
This low-cost download is easily one of the worst commercially released games I’ve ever played in my 20+ years of covering games. Insultingly bad.
