Final Fantasy XI 360 getting closer

Are you one of the many people out there playing one of the most popular MMORPG’s (massively multi-player online role-playing game) on the market? If you are like me, then you are one of them, and cannot wait until the next expansion of Final Fantasy XI. Or wait, maybe you just bought a 360, and want to check this game out? Either way, on April 18th (20th for Europe and Japan) of this year, you will be in luck, as that is the day that Square Enix will be releasing not only the newest expansion, but also the Xbox 360 version of their hit online game.

Final Fantasy XI, which is the first cross-platform and cross-continent MMORPG, will finally hit the Xbox 360. It does not matter if you are on your PS2, you can play with someone who has the PC version, or even the 360 version. You can also play the American version, and communicate with a Japanese player by using auto-translation techniques. With over 500,000 subscribers across the world, FFXI’s world is going strong, and will only get stronger with the addition of the 360 platform, and another expansion.

The latest expansion, entitled Treasures of Aht Urhgan, will not require you to have either of the two expansions. However, you do have to have the original version of FFXI in order to play it. Treasures will be available separately for the PS2 and PC, and will retail at $29.99. However, for 360 owners, the $49.99 price tag will include the original game and the three expansions, giving you more bang for your buck. Treasures will allow you to explore new areas, fight new monsters, and even unlock new jobs, such as the Blue Mage and Corsair. The 360 version of FFXI will allow gamers to see and hear Vana’diel (the name of the world in FFXI) in high definition video.

Whether you are a veteran of this game, or a newcomer, April 18th looks to be the perfect day to step into the already-big-and-getting-bigger world of Vana’diel.
