Unreal Tournament 2007 for PS3

The January 2006 issue of [i]PlayStation Magazine[/i] reports that Epic?s [i]Unreal Tournament 2007[/i], which is still in development, will be a PlayStation 3 launch title. This year?s E3 had Sony bringing in the cofounder of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, to demo the [i]Unreal Tournament[/i] game running on early PS3 hardware. At the time of E3, Epic had already received PS3 development kits and Sweeney was quoted as saying the system was ?easy to program.? This is a slightly different opinion from that of other developers such as Id and Raven Studios who say the Xbox 360 system is the easiest to develop for.

[i]Unreal Tournament2007[/i] will be a launch title for the PlayStation 3 when the system debuts in North America, which as of now is scheduled for Spring 2006, although many believe the system?s date will be pushed back. Epic Games also has a new shooter coming out for the Xbox 360 by the name of [i]Gears of War[/i]. Ebgames.com is showing the release date for [i]Gears of War[/i] to be July 1st, 2006, while Gamestop.com has the date being March 1st, 2006. The former is most likely to be the correct date.
