Hudson Entertainment recently announced that Bonk, their hit video game franchise most popular in the 90's, is hitting mobile phones with Bonk's Return. The crazy caveman is back with his platforming goodness with a scheduled release date sometime this summer. The game will be available for both Brew and Java platforms. [p]Bonk was originally created as a comic strip in the PC Engine magazine in the 80's in Japan. Bonk's popularity became so great that it was only natural that he be turned into a gaming icon. Hudson Soft elevated this character into the video game stratosphere for the TurboGrafx in the 90's. The game won numerous awards and even claimed "Game of the Year" nobility. Numerous sequels and spin offs were also a treat to fans throughout the years with games appearing on the SNES, Game Boy, and PS2. However, it has been years since Bonk has made an appearance on any system but Hudson plans on reintroducing the character specifically for the 2000's. [p]“Bonk has had a huge following ever since he was the mascot character for the TurboGrafx system in the 90’s, and the number one request we get from our fans is to bring him back,” said John Greiner, president of Hudson Entertainment. “Bonk going mobile paves the way for us to introduce this crazy caveman to a new generation of fans, and we have plans for more Bonk games on multiple platforms.”[p]Hudson released this statement about the facts of this upcoming mobile game:[p]Evil King Drool is up to it again!
