According to various reports across the web and online retailers, it looks like the Xbox version of Doom III is much closer than originally anticipated. As of today both GameStop and EBGames have the game listed for a release date of March 1, a date earlier than a lot of people expected.
One more bit of noteworthy information is the introduction of the Collector’s Edition of the game. For an extra ten dollars, fans will recieve complete versions of the original Ultimate Doom and Doom II complete with single player and deathmatch modes with co-op play. In addtion, the G4 Icons feature on the game along with interviews from the id Software team and concept are will be included in the package.
Id Software has yet to make an official comment on the matter, but as always check back here for more as we get it.
