Today in Los Angeles, Union Entertainment and Top Cow Productions announced a deal that allows Union the exclusive rights to create video game titles based on Top Cow?s comic book properties. Also, Union and Top Cow also declared they will create brand new properties that will be developed into comics, video games, and film. However, the exact specifics of the deal were not disclosed to the public.
One of the leading contenders to make the comic to game translation is Top Cow?s “The Darkness.” Union declared this property as having a “unique video game potential? for next generation consoles.”
“Union?s unique ability to translate comics to games, package talent and sell to game publishers, as evidenced by ‘The Darkness,’ makes them a great Top Cow partner,” said Matt Hawkins, Top Cow?s President and COO.
Other hit comic series like Whichblade, Magdalena, Aphrodite IX, and Hunter/Killer are probably being discussed into being made into video games. No release dates have been given for any game they may currently have in production.
