Ouya Now Available at Retail

The kickerstarter console, Ouya, is now available at retail locations throughout North America and the UK. This $99 Android power home console can be purchased at Amazon, BestBuy, Gamestop and Target.  However, most locations have already sold out so it might be best to call ahead.

The system is bundled with the controller, a couple AA batteries, a power cable and an HDMI cable.  Extra controllers are available for $50.

Ouya is significantly underpowered as compared to current gen and next gen hardware. The kicker, however, is the open source environment which is a haven for developers and the low price point of $99.  Over 100 games are currently available for Ouya with many more on the way.  Many apps are also available.

What do you think?  Are you interested in Ouya?  Have you been able to find one in stores?  Or do you just like saying “Ouya!”?
