Guild Wars Hits the Million-Mark

Publisher NC Soft and developer ArenaNet announced in a press release today that [a]http://www.guildwars.com[aa][i]Guild Wars[/i][/a] has officially sold more than one million units since the game?s release in April of this year.

According to NC Soft?s press release:

[i] “At EBGames, Guild Wars has been one of the most successful PC products during the summer and early fall,” said Carol Beck, vice president of merchandising at EBGames. “As we head to the critical holiday shopping season, we expect the game to continue to be a top seller and become one of the most requested games on holiday shopping lists.” [/i]

[i]Guild Wars[/i] players were treated to a free update, titled [i]Sorrow?s Furnace[/i] earlier in September. The content pack included new explorable areas, quests, items and monsters.

NC Soft also announced recently that they will soon launch two new international servers, one in Japan and a second in Taiwan, although no firm dates have yet been given.
