With the advent of the New Year, several recent articles have discussed the immediate future of gaming. I would like to throw in my two cents with an idea about the next evolutionary step of videogame gameplay. While I think the farsighted gameplay goal may be something a la .hack, I would like to propose an idea several generations behind that one.
*Note: My thoughts surround an elaboration of the online multiplayer concept. I am not currently aware of any games that use this system. But then again, I own a GameCube and a Mac – so there are two strikes against me in the online gaming department.
