Originally released on PC, Brave Escape is now available on Xbox and PS5 and includes all the extra features. Developer by Hit Start Studios also included a crossplay feature with their co-op puzzle platformer (more on this below). It is important to understand that Brave Escape was designed as a 2-player co-op game from the ground up. Because of this, there are a couple of different multiplayer options. Pokémon Battle Revolution on Wii can wirelessly connect with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on DS. All the pocket monsters caught in the DS game can be pushed to the Wii game to battle in 3D. DS players can also use the Wii as a 4-player battle hub but doesn’t serve a purpose. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to this console version of Pokémon but connecting to the handheld game does make it more enjoyable and almost necessary.
A vertical shooter published by Flynn’s Arcade, Viral Reload EX has plenty of unique qualities. What makes this shooter different from most others? First, there is a larger emphasis on story. Each chapter is capped with cutscenes that depict the story of shrinking to a microscopic size to destroy viruses. Unfortunately, the story is a overly complicated as I had a difficult time following what exactly was happening. It is cool a narrative has been built into a shooter, but it is unfortunate that it doesn’t make much sense.
