Diablo 4 DLC Imminent: An Exploration into Vessel of Hatred

With Blizzard’s long-awaited title, Diablo 4, recently making a star appearance on Xbox Game Pass, the fourth instalment has quickly become the hot topic of the month as many gamers receiving their introduction into the hell-scorched world of the Diablo franchise. What many of these new players may be unaware of, however. is the fact that DLC content is in the pipeline. Going under the ambiguous moniker of Vessel of Hatred, the upcoming content was first announced at the 2023 BlizzCon event and is poised and ready to bring fresh content to the franchise’s fourth instalment and introduce a never-before-seen class to the unholy collective.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will Introduce the Spirt-Born Class

When the artwork was first released for Diablo 4, a character was shown that was never seen in the actual game. Set to apparently introduce a new way of playing Diablo, the Spirit-Born are best used with the spear-like weapons, glaives. Somehow a connection between the spiritual and physical realms, the glaives serve as not only a pointy stick with which to stab your adversaries but also as a conduit through which their powers are channelled.

Their strength originates from the dual wellsprings of vigor and allegiance. Vigor represents the Spirit-Born’s physical vitality and endurance gained from their innate bond with the elements of Mother Nature. Vigor fuels their physical abilities and allows them to perform feats of agility, beyond the bounds of possibility.

On the other hand, Allegiance represents their spiritual connection to nature and it’s creatures. Drawing from Allegiance allows these earthly people to call upon nature and summon ethereal allies and invoke devastating elemental spells.

The Spirit-Born aren’t merely warriors but also the guardians of balance. Standing on the boundary of the physical and spiritual worlds, they strive to bring harmony between the two worlds.

Offering a fine blend of physical prowess and spiritual power, playing as a Spirit-Born gives the player a truly unique experience of the toils of the Diablo world.

Vessel of Hatred will Feature New Lands

Nahantu boasts a tapestry of contradictions, spanning from the lush greenery of the Restless Canopy to the desolate expanses of the Teganze Plateau. Within its bounds lie the notorious Field of Giants, a bastion of enduring enmity, alongside the shadowy recesses of the Kurast Sewers. Each locale presents distinct trials and prospects for the Spirit-Born, whose bond with nature shall face unprecedented scrutiny.

This new zone introduces fresh quests that are designed to guide players through Nahantu’s myriad of dungeions. Explore the foreboding Forge of Malice and Sleepless Hollow, right through to the spectral depths of the Forgotten Remains and Ruined Wilds. Face peril for the promise of riches as you uncover undiscovered lands.

Culminating Nahantu’s trials is a formidable new raid centered around Khazra. Spanning five wings, this raid shall test the mettle of even the most seasoned of adventurers, pushing them to the brink of their abilities.

Vessel of Hatred – Summary

When Blizzard made the choice of adding Diablo 4 to the ever-growing catalog of Game Pass games they made a shrewd decision. By bringing new players into the franchise, they will undoubtedly increase sales come Vessel of Hatred‘s release later this year.

As an avid fan of the long-running franchise, I’m practically chomping at the bit to delve into a world of discovery and the addition of the Spirit-Born class is, for me, the cherry atop the proverbial cake.

There is no set-in-stone release date at the time of writing but the very vague “late 2024” promised by the development studio suggests a release just in time to slide onto Christmas lists this year.
