Question of the Day

All Shall bow to Doom

Dr Doom, not the movie version, The Ed Brubaker/Stan Lee Doom. The tragedy of his life all the way to working and dedicating his life to destroying that damn Richards. Such a Shakespearian character on something as common as a monthly comic book.

Question of the Day:

Are you working on a book? (The resolution question prompted this)

I am - I only have 2 chapters and an outline, though.

I am working on two books, actually (excluding the ones I work on everyday at work, because they're terribly boring and only lawyers will read them and lawyers aren't real people anyway).

Book the first has already been written. It's a collection of poetry and short fiction. It will be published soon, within a couple of months I hope.

Book the second is a novel and is barely in the first stages of its inception. I hope to have a draft done by the end of the year as well.

I'm writing a novel. Actually it's written, the first draft anyways. I now have to do some re-writing. It's a modern fantasy book that started as a comic book when my best friend and I were 15. Eventually I became the writer and primary artist, then it evolved well past a comic book, now it's a full blown novel.

I had a concept for a book that would take place in a chat room. Half of the chapters would look like chat transcripts, while the other half would be e-mails between "regulars". I wrote a story using that concept and it turned out fairly well, though I have no idea what happened to it. Maybe I should revive it.

Then again, I enjoy spending all my free time playing video games.

hell yeah, I saw the whole series then started picking up the manga, wow the manga is F*****G graphic, I just wish the series didn't end with the whole cliffhanger thing. You know they made a game for the dreamcast based on the series, so so but the story rules.

Since Katie has spotty access to a computer, I'll throw out a question for today. It'll even be games related.

Do you have any "classic" (meaning earlier than PS2/GC/XBox) consoles still hooked up and playable, and if so what games do you play on them and how often?

I still have my Dreamcast all set to go, and I play Sega Marine Fishing fairly regularly, maybe once a week or every two weeks or so. K mentioning the Berserk game -- I think it's Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage -- make sme want to look for more games though. I started hoarding games them after production of DC's stopped, since they're just going to get harder to find. I think I have around 25, but there are a bunch I still should pick up.

I don't have any older consoles. My parents imposed a rule in the house: 1 game system at a time. If I wanted a new/different one, I had to sell the current one. It wasn't a bad rule for a kid, kept me from playing too many games, and also saved money. (In fact, I've pretty much kept to it until just last week when I picked up my PS2)

I do have the gameboy player attachment for the GC, and I play Super Mario Bros. 3 every now and then. One of my fav's from back in the day.

Our NES is still hooked up in the den, should any of us feel the need to play The Adventures of Zelda or Wario Woods.

I have my NES hooked up. I play Super mario brothers about once a month and my sister gave me a tennis game for x-mas that I have not yet played. I believe that I also have Super Mario 2 and 3 as well as Tetris, Excitebike (yay) and Contra... but Contra does not work for some reason. But yeah. I play Tetris every so often but other than that I usually play when other people are around and not by myself.

I still play all my old consoles fairly regularly, but I don't have them all hooked up--it would be a riot of cords (NES, SNES, N64, PS, Dreamcast, Genesis; plus the 'cube and the ps2).

still have the dreamcast and sword of berserk. Still can't beat Mike in punch out in the ol' nes, and chronor trigger is still on my snes, word of advice is to get one of those converters where you hookup about 5 devices and just switch off on them, saves the headaches.
