OK so far we have weapons and cheapest stuff, warning spoilers ahead. anyways I've been playing tales of symphonia for about a month and I'm halfways through it and I'm at the point where I'm at the tower of salvation and colette finishes the whole turning into angel thing and I end up fighting remiel, then afterwards kratos, Who I thought was a kick ass character, betrays you and turns out to be one of the seraphim.

I thought this was a pretty wicked plot twist, so anybody else have a point in a video game plot where you're all like "oh shit, I can't believe that happened"

and Ghost, is there a way to beat Ygdrassill, he owned my ass after I took out kratos

aw, you still got a long way to go. there's a few more twists coming, but i won't spoil them for you.

The most shocking plot twist of all time for me is when SEPHIROTH KILLS AERIS IN FF7!!! :yikes: I couldn't beleive it! I was truely pissed because I put in a lot of time making her one of the strongest in my group since she starts out being the weakest. It made that final battle all the more satisfying though.

you can beat him if you do enough damage, he will just retreat. but it's pretty much impossible at that level. basically you just have to hold out and not die till a certain amount of time. don't waste your good resources.

and destin is sure right about the twists in that game man. it almost makes your head spin.

i am gonna say that the death of aerith was one of the worst twists. i mean, i'm not saying they should have done it...it was just bad cause everybody was upset. but that's ok to break molds like that.

let's see...

im gonna spoil SECOND SIGHT so especially WIJG DO NOT READ PAST THIS
-----------------

also, i think SECOND SIGHT is an awesome video game and recommend it to anyone with a PS2 or GC (not sure if its on xbox or pc) so consider renting it before you read this!

second sight has some awesome plot twists where you think that you are in the present and are somehow using psychic powers to change the past...(missions kept going back and forth between past/present) which then actually changes the present. eventually you realize near the end of the game that this "past" you thought you were changing is actually the present and the timeframe you thought was the present was actually a possible future based on your actions, which you were experiencing as a result of your new-found psychic powers. so eventually you learn the difference and realize you can MAKE a difference and wha-la, beat the boss, end of game. it's a pretty sweet storyline, i think.

A good twist is in MGS1 when you find out one of the people on your codec was really Liquid Snake in disguise.
Or in Advent Rising when you find out your loved ones are not dead, but are infact now very powerful and very evil.

Star Wars KOTOR, Metal Gear Solid 2, FF7, Halo 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 SPOILERS

Not in order or preference or anything, but these five came to mind:

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
They talk about this Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Revan, the entire game...and halfway through the game, you find out that you are Darth Revan!

2. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
They billed it as the "return of Solid Snake", and they were right. But, they never said that we would barely play as him! No game will surprise me as much as this did, ever.

3. Final Fantasy 7
You know what I'm going to say here, so I won't bother typing it.

4. Halo 2
The exact same thing as Metal Gear Solid 2. It's funny, because before Halo 2 came out, one of my friends jokingly said, "Watch, you'll be Master Chief for an hour, than be somebody else..."

5. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
The Boss was a good person the entire time, and got screwed by her country? No wonder Big Boss went nuts! *Remake Metal Gear 1 and 2, Konami!!*

I'll have to agree with Snake on KOTOR. That was one big "huh?"

I liked MGS2 (I think it's 2, it's been a while since I played it) when you find out that the cyber ninja is a girl you nearly killed earlier and then you find out that your commanding officer isn't real.

I'd say...Rengoku: Tower of Purgatory. I thought I beat the game, and I was pretty happy, but then I found out you have to beat it over again. It's one of the most horrible games I've ever played in my life, and it was hell to even attempt to play again.

I have to disagree about the KOTOR plot twist. I saw it coming a mile away. Mostly because they made sure Revan was referred to in only gender neutral ways.

I hated that, it made no freakin' sense to me. How in the hell could Jack/Raiden have been taking orders all that time from no one. Kojima's really telling me Jack never had to meet with Campbell (I think that was his name)? What, he has his codec in his ear even when he's not on missions so he never has to actually meet with someone? AND, with that confusing ending I thought Rose was supposed to be bad or not exist too, but then she appeared out of no where. Either something huge got lost in translation, or Kojima just likes to not make sense at times.

What are you looking at?
Shadow of the Colossus (what can I say? hahaha I love that game waaaay too much). I don't want to ruin the game for anyone, but there was one key part that I didn't expect...which was continued later on and had me go OMFG.

Um....I can't really think of anything else right now. A lot of games are becoming so predictable!

MGS 2 story was complete crap and hardly no solid snake it was teh lame. MGS 1 on the other hand had probally one of the best stories in video games.

I will add a less known game in their for you as best plot twists. One of my favorite games of all time and would probally be criticly one of the best video games of all time is a space sim called Decent: Freespace 2. The plot twist in that game was It was the first game I can think of that you were actually ment to loose. In the final mission you are trying beat this unstopable enemy. Your mission is to try and collapse the Sol Jump Node so the enemy race called the "Shivans" will not have access to the Milky Way Galaxy which as Im sure you educated people know is where earth is. Anyways you are escorting ships out of the solar system you are in now, when all these "Shivan" Juggernaunt class warships jump in and circle around the sun. They use their weapons to make the sun go supernova. And you are now trying to out fly a supernova! You can't out fly a supernova! And the game ends with a funeral in your honor. Best Plot Twist evah!

I have to admit in being disappointed with the way MGS2 ended. I was just saying that it was a surprise. Not all surprises or twists are welcome.

MGS2's story wasn't crap at all. And yes, it does make sense, you just gotta think a little.

Of course Rose was real, Raiden said they had sex..

And yes you can take orders from someone without actually meeting him. If, for example, someone emailed you about writing the review for Elder Scrolls 4, you would write it, having never even seen the person who told you to do it in person.
