I'm not going to kill you Prince, but what you write you do without understanding the scope of what happened to those of us who either witnessed the events firsthand, or lost someone directly to the attacks.
Since then, whatever your beliefs on the matter, America and the world has plunged into conflict and our vulnerabilities have been exposed. Whether it is Katrina or September 11th, it isn't a simple task to stop dwelling on scars that have yet to fully heal as repercussions of the event continue to echo out into the future.
Sorry, Prince, but in this case you really DON'T know that these tragedies "suck balls". To you it was some dramatic television, and luckily, you were far removed from it. I can't simply just drop the fact that 2,800 people were murdered in front of my eyes and say, "well, that was a loooong five years ago...time to forget." IT WAS ONLY FIVE YEARS AGO! It's not like the Titanic back in 1916, Prince. People overcome by smoke in the fires were jumping, bodies were torn to shreds by the explosion and rained down the streets below, and a mountain of concrete and steel came rumbling down and chased thousands and thousands of people in horror away from carnage that resembled a small-scale nuclear strike...two days after I turned 25 years old. I am only 30 now.
Sure, I don't let it run my life, and I enjoy being alive. However, I think about that day a lot, and I think about the way the world has spun into a frenzy of violence and pain. In 1993, a carbomb was set off under the World Trade Center killing six people. Radical Islamic terrorists attacked again only 8 years later. We went to war with the Taliban of Afghanistan. We went to war in Iraq. Iran threatens with Nuclear ambitions. North Korea already has Nuclear weapons. Somalia, Lebanon, Israel, etc. If you think this is done and over with, and that somehow these events don't effect you as an American (high gas prices = high costs for all things...taxes pay for the war effort/taxes pay for Medicare/taxes have been cut...how do we pay for both?/), Prince, it may mean you need to rethink about your place in the world.
Don't mean to jump down your throat, but you need to read this and read up. Apathy will lead to greater and greater tragedies someday.
