boring???? lets play

hmm. kurruption you came up with such a good answer that if i had sat long enough i definitely would have said the same thing. but wolverine i would have already known.

...so to be different...
for super hero, beast. he would be a good one to have conversations with and his athletic prowess would also help make sure we had food. plus his genius would help us out of any situation...maybe help build the ultimate tree house or make a boat, etc.

for the woman...hmm. psylocke. i always thought she was the hottest. pure and simple. i dont care about anything else =)

Ok, hopefully, we haven't heard from everyone yet on this idea, but I thought I would throw my cents in. I would choose Jean Grey. She was one of my favorite characters in X-Men Legends. First off, she could fly. That was uber fun. I also enjoyed telekinetically grabbing random bad guys and watch as my friends beat them up and then throw them into someone else. Good times.

With regards to the desert island scenario, her psychic powers would be more than enough to keep danger at bay. With her telekinesis, she could build stuff. With her telepathic ability, she may be able to signal nearby ships or planes of our predicament, not that I would necessarily want her to.

And finally, there are the various other reasons. I will not elaborate too much on this, but I think we can all imagine the myriad ways someone with telepathic and telekinetic powers could help with those other reasons.

I think it's time a woman weighed in on the situation. First of all, for "companionship" I would choose Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (assuming of course he's not married). I have always had a crush on him. He's a nerd just like me and we would spend lots of time having very weird conversations that are lots of fun but make no sense. Also, his ability to stick to things leads me to believe we could put the Kama Sutra to shame.

For practical reasons I would choose Mr. Fantastic. Much like the professor on Gilligan's Island, every week he would come up with some cool invention involving coconuts to get us all off the island or to make our stay more pleasent. We would be home in no time, provided of course that neither Peter nor I did something Gilligan-ish to destroy his devices. Also since he's stretchy he could also be very memorable in the "companionship" area. After we got off the island he would ditch that annoying wife of his and her idiot brother in order to marry me, so I could enjoy the large cash flow from his inventions.

I can only assume you're talking about Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The comics versions of him are usually a tad too scruffy for my taste.

I think we may have hit the main posters with this idea. Anyone have a new direction? I'll work on it. Like Wile E Coyote, I am a super genius.

I was going to suggest that myself but thought it might be too lame. But since you also suggested it, Toast I feel much better.

Let's see...no telepathy I DO NOT want to know what is going on in the minds of others.

I've always wanted telekinesis though, it would make chores 1,000 times easier. I think I basically want the Force without Dark Side restrictions. If I had to keep my temper in check 24/7 I'd blow a blood vessel. Then I also get a spiffy lightsaber and kick ass fighting moves. However I refuse to get the dorky Padawan haircut or wear those lame robes.

yea telekenisis is a great answer. especially under the assumption that one can move themself with it. otherwise i'd say mine would be to fly.

i would go with the ability to regenerate myself if hurt, ala wolverine...but...i think i'm too much of a wimp to really want to get hurt in the first place, so that would kind of be a waste since i wouldn't exactly change my lifestyle to get the most out of it...such as riding a motorcycle at high speeds, jumping off buildings, etc. i think i'll go with flying then, since telekinis is already taken.

I think you should be allowed to pick a super power someone else has already chosen, so long as you have a different reason for choosing it. No need to use your second choice.

I've had this conversation many times. I guess that says a lot about me.

I would in a heartbeat pick mind control. With mind control, you can either emulate or obviate the need for almost any other power. There's no need to have super strength or any offensive super powers, because you can influence people to not want to hurt you in the first place, or can damage their psyche to the point where it causes physical pain. You can have other people do whatever you need, so if you want something you can just take it. You can even be "invisible", simply manipulate people's minds so they don't see you.

There are few things that mind control can't do, and if I had mind control I wouldn't miss those things. It's mind control for me all the way, baby.

Have you ever played as Professor X in Mutant Academy? All he could do was make you punch yourself or smack you with his wheelchair. While mind control may be all powerful, I think it might get boring. Not to mention yu would have to question why anyone was hanging out with you. Do they really like you or are you making them think they like you?

I would like to be a better liar than ghost

seriously, I would choose superspeed, time is to short to be moving at this slow pace, so I would like to move at the speed of light, and hey, I could relive good times by running around the world counterclockwise so I could travel back in time. Hey it worked for the Flash.
