Pharaoh’s Riches Wii U eShop Review

Pharaohs Riches banner

Just like Mini Games Madness, Now I Know My ABCs and 6 Hand Video Poker, Pharaoh’s Riches is a lacking experience with absolutely no substance, entertainment value, and even player input.

This is literally the entire game in this one screenshot

Pharaoh’s Riches is an Egyptian themed slot machine simulator where the player literally taps one button on the Wii U Gamepad. Unlike 6 Hand Video Poker, the player has the ability to change bets, adjusting the bet per number of lines, but this actually has no effect on gameplay since there is no penalty for losing.  If the player runs out of money, the counter simply goes into negative numbers but gameplay continues as normal.  At an attempt to spice up the mindless gameplay, the player can choose to gamble whatever earnings were won by selecting heads or tails during a randomized coin toss. Unless this is Vegas Vacation, I do not recall ever seeing “coin toss” as an actual casino game.  But even if it was, it is still something you would not want to play.

Here’s a video walk through of everything this title has to offer.

This Wii U eShop download by Skunk Software is an insult to players. It is not fun and actually should be considered a crime that people have to spend real world money to play this game.  Skunk Software has continued their reputation by creating the worst games available on Nintendo’s platform and some of the worst games ever made. The only way I would recommend downloading a Skunk Software title is if you are currently a student studying game design as these are prime examples on what makes a game not fun.

Not As Good As: rock, paper, scissors
Worse Than: E.T. Atari 2600
Also Try: Playing a real slot machine
