Just read this guide about the upcoming MMO, Star Trek Online.

I am looking to Star Trek online but not the MMO. A tactical ship combat game is coming out for the DS and the PSP, and I am hoping that they give it wi-fi capabilities.
 
A Star Trek and Star Wars MMO? Why did it take so long to develope these games? You'd think that following the success of Knights of the Old Republic, this idea would have been explored sooner, oh well, they're quickly becoming a reality now. I think the Star Trek game is going to be much more interesting though, given that the Star Trek universe is not only bigger than SW, but also much less explored, can't wait.
 
If there was a Star Trek MMO, where you could actually work your through Federation ranks and such, and start out as an ensign and eventually get your own ship...

That would be awesome.
