Ok here's the straight forward deal.
I have been working on a game design (originally a pen and paper game turned video game) on and off for the past 3 or so years now. Am I the only one? No. I've got a small group of variously talented individuals, several of whom use those talents professionally as their career job of choice (one of my programmers for example works for Microsoft on a Sigil games project, I won't go into further detail).
What is this project?
Well, my vision is to create a tactical strategy mmorpg (multiple massive online role-playing game). Put together games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Langrisser and Fire Emblem and combine them with concepts behind games like Everquest, World of Warcraft and City of Heroes.
The game is set within a specific premise, with several unique and mystical worlds, born from malevolent and benevolent deities and the power of the star in which these worlds revolve.
The concept of the game is for people to create armies of incredible diversity with literally thousands of customizationable features at each player's disposal. The players then wage war, peace, discover, build, destroy, found, or otherwise immerse themselves within multiple aspects of a diplomatic, explorable, war-torn existence.
Combat is a primary focus of this tentative title, where groups of battle hardened creatures and humanoids alike share the field of battle in a turn based, strategic combat system of skills, spells, terrain coordination and mystical powers.
The game allows for custom content to be crafted by the players, which is a focal point in the center of development. I want the player to immerse themselves within the worlds in which they thrive. To feel unique to a degree never before felt in the online universe. To give challenge and opportunity to everyone who plays with them.
What I'm looking for:
I primarily need a website coordinator. Somebody who knows html, flash, and is very adept at creating visuals. The primary aspect of this game is simple, to make a professional quality computer game using amateur talents. Anything less than professional grade simply isn't what we're looking for.
A graphics artist. This includes but is not limited to things such as textures, world design, animation, artwork and sketching, and overall everything pertaining to graphics.
Programmers. People who know how to code. Unfortunately and very difficult for us, we aren't interested in people who "sort of" or, "pretty much" know programming. A full out degree-on-your-wall programmer would be nice. We have high aspirations for this project, our ultimate goal is to present this project to a high caliber company for finance options. At the very least, to have a professional grade working project that could be distributed via a portfolio for opportunities in the gaming industry.
Musicians. Talent, talent, talent. Very diverse musical masterminds willing to donate a sizeable amount of time into the crafting of musical score for this project. Must have access to high quality computer composition programs and the proper knowledge in which to use them.
At this time, testers and writers aren't our focal point. We have several such people waiting in line for those opportunities.
Anyone interested, please email me examples of your abilities, or any questions and or comments to Morgander_Bromzain@hotmail.com, or look me up via that address on MSN (or email me for my AIM information if necessary) and I'll set up some time to have a chat with you.
Thanks ahead of time for sticking through and reading this. It's a challenge, more so than even many of you here I believe understand trying to find professional grade talent for a serious project such as this. Keep that in mind if you have interest in what I've presented to you here today. Many of our little "staff" have waited many months for this project to even take small steps in the right direction. Such devotion, understanding, and PATIENCE is an absolute virtue throughout this endeavor. If your interested but do not feel you can hold to the expectations of patience and loyalty, it might be best not to have each others time wasted.
Again I thank you for reading this post and I hope to hear from some of you soon.
PS: Posting on this thread is fine but if you find yourself interested in this project, please do not try to garner my attention or ask questions through this thread. Please email me or contact me on MSN or AIM.
