The new trailer is fantastic, the flying effects are beautifully done, the cast is perfect, and using the original Brando performance of Jor-el is a master stroke, can't wait to see it.
Okay, now I'm really ticked off about Hollywood and the image it wants for the Man of Steel. Why in the world are they trying to make Superman a love story? Excuse me, not tried but already did! I don't want to hear about Superman's freaking love life for the millionth time! Can they can the love theatrics just for once on the Man of Steel? I mean really. I don't want to hear about another love story on Superman and Lois Lane. It's getting old, it's getting lame. I mean, they are turning the guy into a wuss. After all:

Smallville - went from Clark Kent trying to adapt to his powers to a love story

Shoot me. I want to see the Man of Steel tackling the worst of the worst. Villians and nutjobs..oh my! Aliens and Kryptonians destruction galor...yes yes. I want to see Superman fight against unseen and unheard of enemies. Enemies that could not only destroy a planet or two, but wants to dominate. Dragonball Z style. "You're the best of the best. I want to whoop you a*s" flavor. That to me would make Superman rock. Friendship, rivalry, etc. Nothing on a romantic scale either! Superman is suppose to be an action man, not the new Fabio of DC Comics. Ugh!
And why does Lois Lane have a child?? I mean come on. You are tainting a comic book icon here by adding a single mom aspect to a woman who was never a single mom in the comic book. That's pretty tacky. Young and old people alike know the basic tales of Superman. When you throw in this kid that never existed, that is a screw up waiting to happen. You just botched an old character to basically create someone who is not Lois Lane. If the character was never broke after 50 years, why are you trying to fix her now? That was a classic no no, especially on a timeless very recognizable character. Not good for Hollywood.
So I guess this Superman will be the only one, huh? Someone else is going to have to create the Superman people would love to see. I really looked forward to this too. Disappointment galor. I'll wait for this movie to come out on DVD and make it a Blockbuster night. I can't watch the Titanic sink again.

Honestly how old are you? Or how many movies do you watch? What comics have you read? What type of life do you live?
Not every human in the world knows the Superman story! The most the avarge non-superman fan knows the 3 main ppl of the story ( Sperman, Lois, Lex ). Movies that are made from comics, games or even books never will be the origanl. You have to dumb down the story points or make it more attractive to the audience your aiming at. X-Men was like that. How many X-Men fans, DIE HARD fans didn't like some of the points of the movies. It is done so that ppl who know nothing about the stroy can understand.
And if all you want to see is A Dragonball Z esque style Superman movie you are wrong. Go get the first two movies if you have not seen them. I'll give you some hints, IT'S THE SAME STORY A$$HOLE. Superman ismore then just fights and so forth. I'm just gonna stop talking because your making me really upset right now because of your ignorance.

Superman represents the very best in the opposing view of alien contact. Instead of causing random destruction and abductions, He strives to maintain peace and help return people to their homes. Instead of blind, rage-fueled hate, he uses his amazing powers for good and American justice. Instead of a story of pure human loathing, it is a story of love and compassion. This is the nature of the Superman story. Now, Batman also has his place because he lives in a world of almost pure vengeance, and that is just plain cool, but Superman has a resolve and a purpose that everyone can relate to. Amen.
