Just and update on some great news I heard. The team behind the well made Batman Begins will be making God of War. Thats right Kratos on the Big Screen who's not happy about that. And from the same ppl who brought to you the First Blade, Memnto, and Batman Begins ( and there doing Begins 2 as well). So i'm happy to here that.

Also to all of the WoW players there will be a movie made for you's as well. I have no details on the movie just yet but if I find anything or here anything I let you know.

Personally, i think the only way to do WoW justice in film would be as an animated film... you know that the stuff that makes WoW graphically unique would just look silly as hell if done as real-life props and sets ( ::: cough! Dungeons and Dragons movie! cough! ::: ).

A WoW Movie? That sounds Nerfed right out of the box.

I play WoW almost every night and I wouldn't even wanna see that.

Kratos can't be played by just anyone.

This may sound wrong but I have to say it Kratos is a Black Man. There I said it please dont' hate me. but i beleive he is a black man. he would have to be. Or they could use the Rock.............nah I woulndn't buy it. I don't know who could play Kratos.

He had a Black Mans voice and the way Kratos was presented in the game he felt more like a Black Man. I know I'm wrong for saying that but hey someone was bound to say it. I can care less as long as the movie is good.

And he should be black. A black Spartan, Master Chief is a Spartan, Amybe it's a black guy under the hood in Halo. LOL

Call me a pedant, but THERE ARE NO BLACK GREEKS! In fact Hollywood's trend of making "historical" movies about certain cultures and then making them as cosmopolitan as New York city (when they simply weren't) pisses me off. If you're going to depict history, or even depict an historical culture (as in GoW), then get it right. You don't see random European dudes running around in movies about African tribes, or in Samurai movies or kung-fu movies. The cast of GoW should be of European descent, preferably Medditeranian. Or they should at least look vaguely Greek.

When I was nine or something, I played Percy in a semi-professional production of "The Miracle Worker". Percy is a little slave boy from the south, he's black. I'm white. The woman who played Percy's mom was black. The director made a last minute decision not to paint my face and hands black. I think they should have got a black kid to play Percy in the first place, but I think it would be more offensive to see white skin portrayed as a slave (taking something away from the exclusivity of Black Heritage in America) than it would have been to paint me. But I don't know.

I still think that Kratos should be Greek.

If Kratos was Persian he really wouldn't have been dealing with Greek gods anyway. He'd probably be a Zoroastrianist, or earlier pagan concepts.

Besides, Persians aren't "black". Their current descendants are the people of Iran.

If I pissed you off Basil sorry it was not my intent. And I think you can be Greek black or not. There are black Canadians right. There are Black British people too. Blacks are all over mixed in with every race ever. So there can be a Black Greek man.

An I don't know if they should use a Greek man or not. As long as the person canplay the part I'm happy

Hey Prince. I think Basil's pointing out that there weren't any black "Ancient Greeks". Of course, black people have spread all over the world now, but during the days of Odysseus and Achilles...not so much going on in the diversity department (at least within the halls of power).

Precisely.

And I'm not pissed at Prince. I agree that Kratos' musculature had a distinct negroid quality to it. I suppose some creative license ought to be given there. I just don't think they ought to go further than that if they really want us to believe that the story takes place in ancient Greece.

Scribe i got that much from him. It just sounded like I pissed him off a tad bit. But here's a question. The first civilized nations were around Eygpt and the whole middle east sector right? So my questions is are the black? It seems that when we say the word black ppl we mean African. But i've seen darker Middle eastern men and Very dark Spanish people. So what is a black person. I find this weird, being a African American myself. I'm not black, more of a light colr. I get mistaken for a spanish person a lot. So how can we define a black person? Achillies may have been Greek but what was his skin color. In the bible Christ is said to have a lot of features, that would by today standards would make him a Black man.

So thats how I see things black is just a color but is not a race.

In the case of Kratos' presentation in the game, his skin is the color of the Michelin Man or the Pillsbury Dough Boy...so it almost doesn't matter how he starts out as long as his complexion changes to look like a long-dead Sea Cow's bloated flesh eventually.

Now, there's now way to know with absolute certainty, but if we extrapolate things we find from people who have descended from those peoples of antiquity, I imagine that Achilles might have been dark-haired and olive-skinned, and that Jesus was dark-haired and dark-skinned as well. I suppose we are being sloppy when using the word "black" to denote a specific concept...that of the "African-American". My apologies, Prince!

Um, Yul Brenner anybody? If this game/movie was cast 30 years ago here is the guy who would have played this badass.

But now I bet it will be Vin Diesel.

Scribe your ok with me no need to say sorry. That topic was just something that has been on my mine for like ever. So it's i that should thank you or anyone for POSITIVE feed back.

But before we stry again from the topic. Yea Kratos had a Flour-ey look on him so thats waht would count in the movie. Unless they do the flash back thing. But it makes me wonder where the plot is going to be. They have to use parts of the 1st game. Or some of what the story was.
