Anybody here do it? Anybody know anything about it? I'm doing some research.

I remember having lucid dreams when I was a kid. I would almost always fly/float. That's what I chose to do, every time. I want that ability back.

I have semi-lucid dreaming. There are points where I can change what's happening, but I usually only alter the current theme slightly. For example, I found myself fighting through hordes of orcs in a mall parking garage to get to Orlando Bloom. I got stabbed in the leg and started limping. So I decided - screw this I'm not injured - and I felt instantly better.

Also when I realize I'm having a nightmare I'll decide to wake myself up. Often by thrashing in bed until I hit something hard enough to wake me up.

If you're aware you're dreaming and you're having a nightmare, try doing something out of character, it may keep you in the dream, but make you fully lucid. Try it!

I still need to get to the stage where I can remember my dreams when I wake up.

When I realize I'm having a dream though, I never realize I can have any control over it. It's more of a, "Okay I'm dreaming so that means I can get the hell out of here!" thing. Like I said, I never get the full lucidity.

It is.....especially when you sleep walk and the dog didn't put her toys up..........very painful......you usually say alot of cusswords when you sleepwalk.......kinda like somebody with terrets....haha

Most of my somnambulism stays in the bed. I do sleepwak very rarely. One of the more interesting times was when I sat up in bed, held out hands, and moved my foot like i was trying to work a clutch. I said "What the hell? There's no lights in this car!" My girlfriend put me back to sleep. She mentioned it to me the next morning, and I told her that I remembered in my dream, I sat in a car that was made out of cardboard, with al of the instruments drawn on. I was tryingto drive it but couldn't.

I also hallucinate a ot when I'm asleep, mostly about bugs or spiders. Which is odd, because I don't hve any particular fear of them. Usually I see a huge spider descending from the cieling. Once, when i was younger, I "woke up" and was covered with a blanekt of earwigs. I sat up and they all went under the bed. It was creepy because I could even feel them. Obviously, they never really existed.

Yeesh. That is creepy. When I was a kid, I had very repetitive nightmares, with the same threat-characters. I was convinced that one of them (a beautiful but utterly evil ghost-bride) was living under my bed. I would spend hours deciding which direction to face, trying to second guess which side of the bed she'd come up on.

I had an interesting dream within a dream last night. Something bad was happening and I finally realized it was a dream, and when I woke up, I was still in a dream, then I really woke up. That might have been the third time I ever remember that happening.

All my dreams are lucid. I have complete control of my dreams, I can jump in and out of one at will and alot of instances I make myself have powers of some sort.

The cooliest one was when I was in 8th grade, I had a dream that my teacher was trying to kill me with a shotgun, she shot like 5 other people missing me the the shotgun and I ran and dove out the window. Then she pulls out a dedanator and says..." If I can't get you noone can!" and my entire school blew up behind me...the coolest part about the dream...I saw me dove out the way of the explosion and I saw my self in the third person view point. Now tell me how many of you guys seen yourself dive away from an explosion in the third person?

not dive, but i often seen myself in third person.

i also often have the instance where something happens in my dream, then i wake up within my dream of realize "oh i was dreaming earlier" and then i will tell someone in my dream about the dream i had.

that always makes it confusing to then wake up in bed. anyone ever seen vanilla sky? i just saw it this past weekend and i really liked it.

sometimes i have had prophetic dreams too. that really makes me fear some of the more highly realistic dreams

Yeah Vanilla Sky was a great movie. "Waking Life" is also about lucid dreams. It's not very popular, but it was the first (and only other) film to use the technique they use in "A Scanner Darkly". It's pretty freakin' cool.

So, I began lucidity training last night. The first step is to start remember your dreams, something that happens to me VERY rarely, like once a month or less. All I had to do was believe that I would remember a dream and lo and behold, I woke from a dream at 3:30 this morning and was able to review the basics of it in my head. I'm going to do it again tonight and see if I can repeat the trick.

Last night I dreamed that I set my alarm for the wrong time and woke up already late to work. When I woke up the first thing I did was check my alarm clock.

I used to have memories of mundane things that happened in my dreams that I confused with things that actually had happened (for example, I remember X saying "Y" as if it actually happened, but X never really said "Y", even though I can quote "Y" exactly and detail the circumstances under which it was said.

this isnt exactly about dreaming but in high school i woke up exactly 1 minute before the alarm went off, every single day (after a certain point in time) cause i hated the sound of my alarm so much. i'd rush to shut it off. pretty neat how i could automatically wake up though...i mean that is weird. i'm sure other people can do it too -- but THAT IS WEIRD.

Lucid Dreaming is something I trained myself to do at a young age cause I was tired of bad dreams. The trick is keeping you concious aware of everything that is going on in your dream. Once you are able to do that you will be able to change your circumstances in a dream or wake up from a dream at will. This does take alot of pratice though and I don't think I could tell you in any detail how to convince your mind to know when you are dreaming.
