Best PC party game?

while writing an article recently, it occured to me that consoles seem to have sewn up the market for party games.

so i was wondering, are there any good PC party games? is that just not a thing?

Uhhm, as far as I understand, party games are the ones, where one group of people can play against each other, correct? If so, then, uhhhm, every single game does this.

There are some pretty cool games on Steam that are 4 player and could be controller enabled for a party. We have Hammerwatch, and Monaco. They are nothing fancy, but definitely the kind of games designed to be played as a group.
Another fun party game is a star trek-like bridge simulator called Artemis. This would require a LAN party arrangement, but I think it would be a lot of fun.

u know what i mean though right? games like mario party or mario kart, or mario....(insert noun)

the real problem is that all consoles have a theme, a spokesman, and a brand.

But PC doesnt have this, and really never will, so its hard to build a game that would appeal to all without a unifying character or spokesman.

what would our SSbros loook like? IE vs Firefox vs Chrome......

holy crap i would totally buy that. someone needs to do this.
