Want to decide which new console will fail?

I'm considering holding an eBay auction or raffle for people who want to decide which new console (360, PS3, Revolution) will fail.

The fact is, every console that I've gotten first of a particular generation has failed. This goes way back: the TI99/4A home computer I had was nowehere near as good as a C64 or Amiga; I had the Atari 7800, quickly pushed out of the market by the NES; I got a Sega Saturn before a Playstation; and I got a Dreamcast and a Gamecube before getting a PS2. So, it seems pretty obvious that whichever console I buy first is destined to fail.

Thus, I'll allow people to send me money which will go toward buying said console, and in return they get the privledge of determining exactly which console they want to fail. Anyone interested?

If whatever console you purchase fails make sure you buy a 360 first. I believe the ps3 once agian will reign supreme, and hopefully nintendo will get off it's ass and start rebuilding their fallen empire. The whole idea of being able to play any past nintendo game on the revolution has me salivating already, and my guess is so is wijg.

I will contribute to you a whole shiny penny. Baby steps my friend, baby steps.

Wijg is not salivating. He is drooling. Get it right dammit. And Wijg is also at work, so he should probably try to stop drooling as well as talking in third person. The other people in the business center are starting to look nervous.

The past games for the revolution is a great idea. They just need to have a few key ones that were unfortunately not on the list in the news post. I hope that is just a preliminary list. We shall see.

BC, I can't send you any money, but I would be happy to donate my Mygamer points. That's the same thing right?

i didnt know the revolution was going to be retro-compatable. that rules!

they might not have a comprehensive list because it is hard to get licensing rights to some games. especially from games who's companies might no-longer exist...or those software developing companies who now have their fingers in other companies such as Sony and Microsoft....can be tricky. but hopefully !

I thought I was the only one who bought doomed systems out of the gate...ie the Sega Genesis, Saturn, Game Gear..I did pass on the Dreamcast and bought it recently for 15 bucks.

Sadly I think the revolution may fall short...just because Xbox and PlayStation look to have more gamer-driven games (if that makes sense..)..games that more appealing to hardcore gamers and that's usually who buys new systems (pure speculation there but with the hefty price tags of new systems it can be a deterrant for some in the casual game market)

oh ya i used to have game gear too. actually it is still at my mom's house i am guessing. unless she pawned it. just kidding. but seriously i had to get my porno mags OUTTA there when i moved out to make sure they didnt end up kindling a fire on some cold evening.

microsoft seems to be too busy trying to market the 360 to non-gamers so I still say avoid until something worth playing comes out.

I too will contribute my mygamer points to your crusade, and an occasional penny.
