Use of in game consoles

Not every game has them, but what do people think of using the in-game consoles? is it only for cheating, or do you use it if your stuck? or do you scoff at them all together?

I didn't use a lot of in-game consoles, atleast not in the near past. I used to use them a while ago and I used them mainly for cheating, which also includes using them when getting stuck.
