Should these at least be options in most games?

Morgan Freeman is just on there because of affirmative action, on a side note, anyone ever seen a show on IFC called Baaddaass cinema, it's about the blaxplotation movie era, very interesting.

Morgan Freeman did a wonderful job narrating The March of the Penguins. it's a great movie. It also serves to remind us that it is good not to be French because the original French version has the penguins talking to each other, as opposed to a good solid documentary for the US version.

This was completely off topic, but I do not care because I think everyone should see this movie!

:penguin:

See. I didn't even know he narrated that. He's in everything. Didn't he narrate "War of the Worlds" too? Why? Why do you have to hire a known actor to narrate something? Doesn't make any sense to me.

He also narrated Million Dollar Baby...but at least he was in that one too.

I don't know what movies that you all are watching but I have seen some rather well played minor roles that happen to be played by minorities.

If you are watching porno, teenie bopper movies, or really bad action flicks. Yes, those parts of the dead drug addict black man exists.

I'd like to see more Ving Reams(sp?) and Samuel L Jackson.

Morgan Freeman is a movie whore...he will do part.

Back to the topic- I don't think much of the major storyline for things like Mario and Sonic would be runined if either developed boobs.

why does mario need boobs? can't princess peach be the main character in a game?

also, yes. french people suck.

damnit i forgot what else i was going to say. oh ya. people like familiar narrators. they feel more comfortable.

ron pearlman narrated the sequences in the fallout games. i thought that was awesome.

"war. war never changes..." very memorable IMO

In a Seperate Peace they say "Times change, wars change but men stay the same."

I hate that book so much.

As I recall, it wasn't worse than the Scarlet Letter. I don't even think Frank Muller's audio reading of that book could save it.

I like Morgan Freeman. He was great in Robin Hood, Batman Begins, and Shawshank.

I hope I can make it across the border.
I hope to see my friend and shake his hand.
I hope the Pacific is as blue as it is in my dreams.

I hope.

Oh and Ron Pearlman is a badass as Slade.

Jamie Foxx is in a good amount of movies now days. I think some people view him as the flavor of the month, but I believe he has staying power. He's in a movie that has yet to be released called Jarhead, it looks pretty good.

Yes, black actors do still die early in some movies, but there are a good amount of regular black actors although some of you guys may not know them:
Denzel Washington
Mario Van Peebles
Jamie Foxx
Regina King
Sam Jackson
Larenz Tate
Terrence Howard
Cedric the Entertainer
The Rock (I think he's half black, but I may be wrong)
Wesley Snipes
Taye Diggs
Nia Long
Halle Berry
Morgan Freeman
Will Smith
Jada Pinkett
Omar Gooding
Morris Chestnut
Vivica A. Fox
Michale Clark Duncan
Don Cheadle
Chris Bridges

This is not to say its still not hard for minorities to get work in Hollywood, I'm just saying there are more than just 2 or 3 regulars.

If anyone wants to see good movies with minorities (they're not just filled with minorities though), try Crash (DVD next Tuesday), American History X, A Time to Kill, Higher Learning, and a foriegn film called Brother.

There's also the director, John Singleton, who keeps on buying out every Vin Diesel movie, firing his ass, and putting in an African American. Not that the movies were good in the first place...I'm just waiting to see if they do "The Pacifier 2: XTREME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I don't like John Singleton, just because he's so pathetically clammering for publicity. And that game he's directing? Pathetic.

No, I actually didn't. Not all of his movies are bad though. But the movie sounds so dumb. But so does Katamari Damacy. But I mean...cmon, a bunch of average joes avenging their loving mother who forgot the whole "brutal vigilante violence is bad" lesson. It's a pretty shallow idea...

Well you don't sound like you'll see it at the theaters, but you should check it out when it comes out on DVD. You might be surprised, as long as you don't go in to it wanting to hate it.

As long as we are way off topic: Anyone seen "40 year old virigin"? That movie was fucking hilarious.

Also, anyone seen The Family Guy Movie: Stewie Griffin the Untold Story? Also good stuff. Basically a 90min episode of Family Guy with no censorship.

No no, like I said (or tried to) it sounds kinda dumb in theory, but may actually be good. I may check it out on DVD sometime...

Perhaps one day I will understand the fanatical appeal of Tarantino. Granted I have only seen RD, PF, and KBv1 once each, I was not as blown away as his fans seem to be. With RD and PF, my main issue is story. I wasn't wild about either story. Of course I was slightly inebriated when I saw PF, so that might have affected things. I need to see them again.

And referencing Maverick's list: Michael Clark Duncan rules.

maverick, you and I have to chat about 'hood movies, I really liked Baby Boy, as far as Q goes, I really really think he has a great sense of dialog, and I also thank him for putting sam jackson on damn near everything he puts out, I really am a big fan of Robert Rodriguez though. The Mariachi trilogy is definitely on my favorites list, and also his newest film, you might of heard of it Sin City, loved that.

Unlike you guys, I really enjoyed Kill Bill Volume 1. Mostly because of the hordes of ninjas. You really can't go wrong with an army of ninjas if you ask me.
