What has happen to G4?! I used to love this channel, but now they are screwing up royally. They cancel two of their best shows in G4tv.com and Judgement Day. Electric Playground, Filter, and Cheat are MIA. And I'm still pissed about them cancelling Pulse a few years ago. And what do the brains behind G4 give us in place of the game related programs you ask? Why TV shows that have been off the air for years like Fastlane, The Man Show, and Star Trek: The Next Generation of course! And who could forget the horribly out of place Street Fury (which just served as porn for 13 yr old boys really) and Formula D. Seriously, who in the hell cares about those shows enough to watch them on a regular basis? Even the mighty Attack of the Show has been cut down to only 4 shows a week. What the hell is going on over there at G4?! Adam & Morgan better watch their backs. I don't know where you're headed G4TV, but it looks like dark skies ahead.

I still wish it was TechTV. And I wish they still focused on computer stuff with some videogame coverage (Morgan and Adam were about the only ones doing that then, Adam the longest).

I forgot what X-Play was called at first. Wasn't it electric something?

I'd like it if they focused on computers a little more too. I honestly don't think they know what they're doing now.

I think two things happened: First, they ran out of good, original ideas, so they started putting on second-rate stuff or repeatitive concepts. Second, the stuff they did have lost its viewer base. Now they are scrambling for ratings.

Yeha I haven't been watching it too much. Call for Help still has Leo Laporte on the weekends. Some of the shows I won't miss, like G4TV.com. I couldn't stand the host(esse)s. It's strange because back when G4 and Tech TV were separate, it was Tech TV that had lots of stupid shows on (remember Thunderbirds?) and G4 had their focused core of shows, though they didn't have enough coverage (and they ended up replaying these strange little segments, like the videos of some guy getting a high score in Crazy Taxi or Tomb Raider 2, just to fill in time).

Now it seems like, after the merge, the channel has cast off practically of the TechTV programming, but moved to the TechTv format with lots of useless shows. Very strange.

Well, let's be honest... there's only so much you can say about video games, and the network tried to fill air time 24/7. And what they had was STILL shamefully superficial most of the time.

well it's true that there can only be so much video game coverage. I've really liked some of the things they've done like the icons series. As far as trying to get old shows in for filler? Well, I do watch the man show and I can understand them picking up star trek due to the coincidence that alot of gamers are also trekkies *by the by I hate star trek* I think they should follow suit and have programs about other things gamers due. A good example would have to be some of the new segments on AOTS, such as dvduesday and fresh ink, which I watch reliogiously, they just need to branch off from there. A good example is anime unleashed, granted cartoon network usually picks up the best ones, G4 scored when they aired gungrave though *That shit ruled.* So the people at G4 simply need to sit down and think "hmmmm what else are nerds into" Word of advice though, please no more comedy skits on X play, the zombie and star wars skits sucked total D**K

I personally like Star Trek. But I don't believe it belongs on G4. Neither does Brainiac, Anime Unleashed, The Man Show, Street Fury, Fastlane or Formula D. Happy Tree Friends does belong there, because it's based on THE original flash cartoon. They need to get rid of these, and bring back lots of the original shows from Tech TV like Unscrewed, The Screensavers, TECHLIVE and such. However, most of them have gone on to get new shows (which people apparently watch). So they'd probably have to bribe them back or buy out their contracts, which they might not have the money left to do.

I used to love G4, and before last years coverage of E3 I was watching it regularly. My own personal favorite show was G4TV.com, and if they're getting rid of that, it's a bad mistake. I think that show was the focal point for much of the stations online presence, and I actually really liked the dynamic of the three hosts. I had the pleasure of meeting Tina Wood and Laura Foy at E3 this year, and they certainly deserve better than where this station is seemingly headed....

the only thing g4 has going for it now is cinematech and icons. everything else is garbage. I liked anime unleashed back when they were showing some good shows(read or die, gadguard). If they were smart, they'd show all of the videogame based animes like streetfighter V.
