Dragon Quest VIII

For those of you who don't check the journals on this site, I've been keeping a rough log og my DQ8 experiences. You can find a link in my .sig. That is, if you find this interesting; if you think it's stupidest idea ever, I hope your eyes get torn out of their sockes by rabid chipmunks.

Get Suikoden Tactics instead. Dragon Quest is just...some kind of...overrated underrated.....THING.

I agree that it's underrated. Actually I think DQ8 is my Game of the Year, though I know most people would disagree.

I'll probably rent ST though. I'm not familiar with the series, but I'm always up for a tactical game.

I'm a major Suikoden fan, and I'd recommend it to anyone (3 is my favorite, and you should all read my Suikoden IV review if you wanna know about that). But you'll probably want to finish DQ first, to keep on task cuz otherwise you'll get distracted and end up not finishing one of them.

I never "finished" DW7, actually, I'm still at the fight with God. Which is actually after the "end" of the game, but until I complete that battle, I don't consider it "finished".

Not sure if DQ8 will have something similar. But yeah, I often don't finish games and the come back to them at some later date.

Haven't touched it. I'm one of the few people who actually bought it for the game in the box, not the demo...
