The Master Chief had some personality though. He has the dry wit and a serious, but non-anti-social demeanor. His looks and actions are what make him memorable. Solid Snake is probably the most deserving of the non-prototype game characters (that's Mario and Link). He's got wit, style, cool looks, an outfit and MOST importantly, he is one of the few MANLY game heroes. Sam Fisher was all right...until Ubi Soft Montreal stuck a stupid Anti-American bias into him, and while you may or may not agree, I like my games politics-free. Seriously, Cloud has cross dressed, so no thing there. Put Squall in a dress and some poor guy would probably hit on him. Gordon is just too geeky. Mario....is Mario (who is less than Luigi).
