Vivendi Universal Games announced the appointment of Danny Hammett as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Value Line Publishing in North America. In his new role, Hammett will be in charge of product development, sales, marketing and business development for VU’s newly created lineup of budget priced games, which will be priced in the range of $19.99 and $29.99.

“The value line business in North America is a profitable and growing category which well exceeded $1 billion in PC and console sales in 2004,” said Mr. O’Neil. “Danny has a proven track record in creating successful value line strategies and we are thrilled to have him on-board leading VU Games’ efforts in this area.”

Hammett joins VU from Activision, where he recently served as Executive Vice President of their value pricing division. Games like Kings Quest, Tribes, and Dark Age of Camelot are included in the lineup, in addition to unannounced new properties.
