TGS 09? Nintendo Wrap-up

3442SquallSnake7

Nintendo was not present for TGS this year but they still made two big announcements.

US Price Drop for the WII to $199.99.  It will retain Wii Sports as a pack-it title.  Goes on sale September 27 in the US and October 1 in Japan

-Release date for New Super Mario Bros WII.  The game will hit streets November 19th, just in time for the holiday shopping.

Aside from those two announcements there were a few really cool third-party announcements for the Nintendo systems.

-EA Japan's Zelda-clone, Tsumuji for DS gets a hands-on demo. No release dates yet.

-Square Enix promoted the crap out of the DS/DSi Dragon Quest games still to come out. No American release dates yet for Dragon Quests VI or IX. They were also promoting Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers the upcoming Wii game in the Crystal Chronicals series.

A new DS game by Level 5 AND Studio Ghibli, Ninokuni. Check out the trailer for this new DS RPG here.  Keep an eye out for it on the DS and "Another System" some time in 2010.

-Capcom's Ghost Trick looks like an Ace Attorney Game with the visual stylings of The World Ends with You.  No release date yet for the states.

-Koei let it slip that the Wii Classic controller PRO may be coming to America.  Their Samurai Warriors 3 seems to mention taking advantage of the new controller's features. This is just rumor of course, but keep an eye out.

-Awesome, Frank West is going to be in Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.  He was in wars you know.

-Three words: Professor Layton plushies

Tales of Grace announced for Wii. The game’s about 80% done as of TGS so pay attention for a release date to come out some time soon.

-Playable demo of Final Fantasy Gaiden is pretty nice- it looks decent enough, but doesn’t seem to do anything special. Battle System is fast but seems aggrivating with no targeting system.  Spells and Attacks auto-target whoever has the lowest HP.

One could speculate that the reasoning for not being physically present at TGS this year is because Nintendo is preparing for another Space World. But we normally don’t start rumors.
