Earlier today during Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show briefing, the PSTwo system was officially unveiled. The system (model SCPH-70000) will hit stores November 1 here in the States and in Europe, and will launch on November 3 in Japan.

While the PSTwo is internally similar to the PS2 system, its thickness has been decreased by roughly 60%, and the weight of the device has been cut by 50%. But perhaps the best “new” feature of the slimmed down system is the addition of an integrated Ethernet port, which completely eliminates the need for a separate Network Adapter. In addition, the SCPH-70000 also includes a built-in dialup adapter, so those of you still bound to a 56k modem need not fret.

While no price has been announced, rumor has it the system will launch at the current price as the PS2, which is $149. Again, this is not confirmed, but is a good bet.
