Price of games to rise soon?

By David Craddock

After 20 years of being priced at $50, we knew our luck was bound to run out sometime: look for games to finally raise their price point, starting with the next generation systems due out within the next couple of years.

While nothing has been confirmed at this point, Robert Kotick of Activision was recently quoted as saying Activision itself will raise the price point of titles for next-gen systems between $3-$5. It is not surprising, and even recent titles such as Doom 3 launched at the $55 mark.

Again, nothing has been officially confirmed, but if anything changes, you can count on your friends at MyGamer to keep you up to date.
