Nintendo Shutting Down Wii Shop Channel

Nintendo announced that they will be shutting off the Wii Shop Channel on January 31, 2019. However, it is important to note that users will only be able to add Wii Points, currency used to purchase Wii Shop Channel content, until March 27, 2018.  This Wii Shop Channel will also be shut down on the backwards compatible Wii U.

If you plan to buy any Virtual Console or WiiWare games, be sure to take care of that soon.

Some games you might want to consider owning from Nintendo’s service are: Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, Chrono Trigger, Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, Sin and Punishment, World of Goo, Contra Rebirth, Castlevania Rebirth, Cave Story, Tetris Party, Alien Crush Returns, Tomena Sanner, Chick Chick Boom and many more.  There more good, and rare, games on Nintendo’s Wii Shop Channel than you probably remember.
