The Nikkei Journal has reported that Nintendo will officially enter the movie entertainment industry in 2006. This confirms rumors created a couple months ago when President Hiroshi Yamauchi said he was interested in the company getting involved in movies.
The entire studio, which will be completely in-house, will be responsible for all planning, production and post production, as opposed to previous [i]Pokemon movies[/i] which were handled by other companies.
As of press time, no news about any movies have been announced, but it would be safe to assume we should expect something involving Nintendo’s key icons. Be sure to check back here for more updates.
