I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (PC) Review

Based on the short story with the same name, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is a point-and-click horror adventure that has aged like a fine wine after 26 years since it was first released. For many horror fans, getting chased by monsters, shooting the brains out of virus-infected walking deads, and jump scares out of nowhere are familiar notions of survival horrors. Unlike the majority of contemporary horror games, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream doesn’t feature any of those components of terror but rather, it presents the fear that comes from the never-ending agony of living in a virtual existence. A supercomputer named Allied Mastercomputer (AM) built during the cold war by the US has reached the point where…

Then you have a button…

If you ever feel like schizophrenia warnings before a game starts aren’t for you, you will need to ask yourself again after a Blair Witch (2019) playthrough. Horror games come in many shapes and forms but Blair Witch has its way of presenting the harrowing experience of psychological horror in a very original way and in the same scale of success the cult classic The Blair Witch films achieved. From the developers behind the Layers of Fear series, Blair Witch is the video adaption of the 1999 horror film The Blair Witch Project, which was later followed by the sequels in later years with the last being Blair Witch (2016). If you have never played Layers of Fear games, they are known for visually manipulative…

Mira’s Brush (PC) – Review

When the evil lord Colonel Blunt brute-forced his way into the castle and stole the color crystal from the empress, an ordinary girl Mira comes to rescue and is tasked with the duty of restoring colors to the Chromaland. Using her magic brush, she can steal the colors and stencils of the original enemies featured in the overly colorful world of Chromaland, which is also the most basic way of getting around foes. Supposedly aspired by the art of painting, Mira’s unique method of rendering enemies unharmed is stealing their color and leaving them in the form of monochrome. That way she can touch, jump or ride on them depending on where she wants to go next. Mira’s Brush seemingly intends to attract players with…
