Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

Most of us that have ran and bought the Medal of Honor series every year it has came out, and has experienced what it has to offer already. EA has yet released another Medal of Honor game, and they should slow down, they are getting to a bore! Sure there is the unique FPS action, strong story line, and the great sound, but it?fs all been said and done once again.
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

Over the many years, over different platforms, and still the same setting, we have experienced what it might of been like in the setting of the WWII war. Many games use this event because, well, it is an event that is well known, entertaining, and easy to make a game about. Some games are better then others (CALL OF DUTY) and some are just getting plain old,(MEDAL OF HONOR).

Instead of being in the main part of the WWII, Rising Sun takes a step forward in the illustrious war, and takes a leap of faith in the Pacific theater. Main mission objectives will have you plotted in several different locations throughout the surrounding areas of Japan.

Like every other Medal of Honor in the series, you will be placed deserted with noone but yourself to take the war alone. This doesn?ft happen in any war (not that I could remember anyway!), and probably never will happen, so this really takes down the over all factor of realism to the bottom. Though they might be using this as an advantage in EA?fs mind. Putting oneself in a war, to beat it himself, will make you feel all too powerful, well IT?fS NOT WORKING. I?fm sorry if you haven?ft heard the news, it?fs out, ka peesh, no more please!

Action is still plentiful and like Frontline, you will be seeded with pure mayhem in the first few seconds of start up. This will also add to the feeling of war! With the introduction of the first ever cut-scene, this might bring a few sparks of entertainment, but they soon die out. The big issue is that you already have shot 100’s of soldiers throughout each mission by yourself with the last few games.

The graphics advancement has slowed down, since this is the second MOH to be ported to the ?enext generation?f systems. Playing on the PS2’s version, the graphics seem to be out dated. For the most part, the back and fore grounds can tend to seem quite blocky. Textural designs can be tedious, seeing the same thing for more then 10 times! When making your way through the jungles, it will seem like you have been trekking for a substantial amount of time, due to repetitive designs

The strongest aspect of MOH: Rising Sun, has to be the jaw dropping musical scores. With each mission your placed in, there will be an array of sounds/music to get you in the mood for what your doing. Gun action is generic, while it isn?ft exactly the standing innovation, it surely isn?ft horrid. Most of the time spent playing the game, the gun?fs sounds often appear muffled, which brings an udder after distaste. Listening to the soldiers has brought me humor since the beginning. Each game has had German language, now they spiced it up by bringing in Japanese, which provides new content, which is good.

Gameplay is what makes every game, without out it, well, there wouldn?ft be a game. Most often game developers often welcome there stay too long, and offer what has been offered. You will be in a FPS state, and going to stop yet another cruel attempt, by yourself. Missions are straight forward, and require you accomplish all of them to be able to continue your story. Though, it is basically the same as the last, and the other two for the PS1, they added a multi player co-op story enhancement. This is a nice feature especially if you have another friend who is good, to make the story even more fun. They have also added in (like the last) a multi player feature that can be used to duke it out with a few friends or strangers. Sorry, it can only be reached if you have an ethernet connection with your PS2, so that should tell you something (fast paced action). While I haven?ft played it online, it would sound fun too. A.I. at some moments can be piss poor. From standing still, waiting too long, or just not doing anything at all, it is an big no-no. this will often make the game even shorter and easier then it already is.

I?fm truly sorry to inform a lot of people, this was a an average addition, in an extraordinary series. More time in the making could of possibly spruced up every aspect of Medal of Honor: Rising Sun. Instant action will however boost the fun level, after that it is a ?eblah?f to play with already seen content. Only die hard fans of the series should run to the game, as it will help complete the total story, other then that, please don?ft waste the money on it-rent it!
