Let the Tournament begin!

Wouldn?t it be great if you could finally put all that smack talk to good use and enter in a worldwide gaming tournament which could benefit you with mass amounts of pleasure and prizes at the same time? Well I got some good news for you? you can!

[A] HTTP://us.worldcybergames.com[aa]World Cyber Games[/a] and [a]http://www.igames.org[aa] iGames [/a] have announced the dates and locations of the regional qualifier stages of the 2005 USA championship.

The Regional competition will include the following eight PC and Xbox titles:

Counter-Strike 1.6 (PC)
Starcraft: Brood War (PC)
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (PC)
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (PC)
FIFA 2005 (Xbox)
Need for Speed Underground 2 (Xbox)
Dead or Alive Ultimate (Xbox)
Halo 2 (Xbox)

The top two teams from [b]Halo 2[/b] and [b]Counter-Strike[/b] will qualify for the Regional events along with players from [b]Warcraft[/b], [b]Starcraft[/b], and [b]Warhammer 40K[/b] All [b]FIFA 2005[/b], [b]Need for Speed Underground 2[/b] and [b]Dead or Alive Ultimate[/b].players are also invited to compete at the Regionals.

Players who advance during the regional qualifier rounds will be heading to New York, New York for the [b]WCG USA National Finals[/b] to be held September 8 through 10, 2005 at the Manhattan Center Studios/Hammerstein Ballroom. Not only do you get to play your favorite game for 3 days but will also receive paid food and accommodation (4 days, 3 nights) for the US Final, plus $200 towards travel expenses, a total package valued at over $750 per player. Did we mention a chance to win a prize pool of $34,000 and a chance at the ultimate honor in e-sports, representing your country as TeamUSA? But you just cared about the free food? we know we would to.

If you do make the cut and continue on you?ll be traveling to Singapore for the [b]2005 World Cyber Games Grand Final[/b] to compete against the world?s best for over $400,000 in cash and prizes.

Just to put things in perspective for you, nearly 30,000 participants competed in the [b]WCG US preliminary events[/b] in 2004 and more than 1 million competed globally.
