KOEI debuts Samurai Warriors 2.

KOEI, the well know developer of historical theme strategy games, announced their release and shipment of [i[Samurai Warriors 2[/i] today for the X-Box 360 and PS2. The game is set after the collapse of the Ashikaga Shogunate, a military dictatorship that ruled Japan from 1336-1573, and documents the civil wars that ravaged Japan during this era in the country's history. Players will be allowed to choose from 26 different characters, a combination of samurai and ninja, including Musashi Miyamoto, the legendary swordsman, Ieyasu Tokugawa who would become the head of the Tokugawa Shogunate, or the ninja Kotaro Fuma. As one of these characters the player must fight off opposing forces in Story, Free, and Survival modes. The game's maps, both in castles and out in the field, are all blended together so that players can experience more freedom of movement in game. The game also features special attacks and abilities that can be unlocked as the game progresses along with powerful attacks. The game can support up to four players and, with X-Box Live you can also engage in VS play online where your individual scores will be logged and stored.
