Kill Animals

Imagine that you are a deer wandering through the forest.  You lean down to take a sip from the lake….BAM! A buck shot hits you in the head and you slump to the ground bleeding profusely.  If this offends you, Big Buck Hunter Pro for the iPhone is not your type of game.  However, if you are a hunting enthusiast or just like to shoot defenseless animals then this game is for you.

Buck Hunter lets you shoot at deer in three different locations based on actual hunting grounds in West Virginia, Illinois, and Minnesota.  Once you pick your vantage point, you have the chance to shoot three bucks, but hitting a doe will end the round.  After each round, your accuracy and points are tallied and the score is added to your hitlist.  You can play in one location or do all three in a complete hunting adventure.  There are also three bonus games.  Duck Hunt (which resembles the classic Nintendo game), Gopher Garden (shooting above and underground at Caddyshack-looking gophers), and Frog Flippin (juggling frogs in the air with shotgun blasts).  You can create a login for web-enabled leaderboards as well as located the nearest Big Buck arcade machine, which launches google maps to show where you can shoot animals on a bigger screen.

The best part about this game has to be the country-style music and hillbilly announcer.  He congratulates you on your performance and makes you feel like a genuine redneck.  The mini games can be entertaining and less traumatizing if you are turned off by shooting deer, but then why would you get a game called Big Buck Hunter?  It’s $2.99 and while there isn’t a huge amount of depth, it is an accurate downsized version of the arcade game.  Happy hunting!
