Jump Into Battle With Medal Of Honor Airborne

EA has announced the first next generation title in its long running WWII FPS series Medal of Honor. The series pioneered the ever growing WWII FPS genre, and EA hopes to redefine that genre with Medal of Honor Airborne.

The development team hopes to innovate through the new Airborne dynamic. Players will take control of Private First Class Boyd Travers, of the 82 Airborne Division, and engage in historical battles from Sicily to Germany. The beginning of each mission will be a fully interactive airdrop. From the air players will be able to survey the battleground, and, by guiding their parachute, choose their landing spot. This will provide players with many different paths through each free roaming environment.

The game will feature a wide variety of customizable weapons with distinct characteristics. As a next generation title, EA promises photo-realistic characters and intense cinematic story telling. As with all the games in the series, the development team is pushing for historical accuracy. They are bringing back Capt. Dale Dye to work as the Military Technical Advisor, as he has worked on the last 7 Medal of Honor games.

Medal of Honor Airborne is scheduled to release in winter 2006 on the PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3.
