A company spokesman for Microsoft has confirmed that Halo 2 will not have co-op play across LAN or the internet.

“Halo 2 only supports two-player campaign co-op on one Xbox,” said the spokesman.

However, the highly anticipated game will have up to four player multiplayer online and LAN play. Xbox Live will also include clan support for the game.

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past four years, Halo 2 is the sequel to Halo, a first-person shooter where you play as a marine fighting a variety of alien creatures trying to take over Earth.

Halo 2 will be released for the Xbox on November 9.
