I got sick of my old XP layour for my desktop so I went hunting for an alternative and found a program called LiteStep.

It changes the way your desktop looks dramtically, and its safe (may have to turn off conflicting programs that run at the same time at startup, it prevents the program from launching all the way, no big deal)

There are tons of great themes on that site for free registration, this is one I'm using right now until I find the english version of the really cool one I landed.

Thats a minimalist theme, there are some really incredible ones with cool effects and tools, it all comes in one package.

OOOO im gonna try that. i love that pic of the lighthouse. i love light house pics and thats a nice and dark, subtly eery one

The advantage to LiteStep is that the litestep program itself is not the full source code for each desktop theme, thusly you dont have to pay for anything to use it, no silly trials.

The essence of the themes in LightStep are provided by the theme creators, who do it for fun and practice... mostly artist people.
