I find that poker in the game of the God. It take the precies timing and knowing what the other person has. Nothing truer that the old saying " It takes a minute to learn and lifetime to master." I my self have won big and lost big in poker. I just wanted to know how everyone else feels about this game growing in popularity.

always was a good game. i think it's lame that it's becoming popular though, cause i hate popular things in a way. something about people doing it just cause it seems "cool" and "trendy" makes me want to stay away from it.
I have accounts at a couple of online poker sites, and I was playing pretty heavily for a while. I did fairly well, but I just never had teh time to move up and make real money at it. I would make maybe $25 in a week, but it took 20 hours worth of playing. If I was playing higher stakes that might be $250 or $500, but it would have taken a long time to get that kind of bankroll. It got to the point where it was just wasting my time so I cut myself off.
If you guys want to get together and have a mygamer poker fest sometime, I'm up for it.

I think they should make Poker an olympic event so people like would have a chance to get an olympic medel 
Well for some of the longer games you do need a fairly tough butt and bladder.

There is much skill involved in Texas Hold'em, but in the end it is a game of luck. I've only played against the computer, but I think it would be fun to play against other people. In one of the books I've read about the game, it talked about how poker is still something we are better at than computers. It is because the computer can't handle the idea of bluffing.
My dad has played online some, and there are some people pulling some incredibly dumb stuff. Where you see their hand and you are like, why the hell did you play that? The chances of it coming up were astronomical. Oh well, that is the luck part.

I'll have to see if there's a way to make private rooms on some of the online sites. There's one that I used to use taht runs in Java, so that would probably work, nothing to download.
