Civil War......Who's Side are you on?

Ok who here has read the civil war comics lately. You know the new series in Marvel that is putting everyone against everyone. Civil War. So far i'm stuck and pissed. I'm not a big comic book reader but this got me hooked.

The story is simple, the goverment wants EVERY Superhero to unmask and register with the goverment. It's a huge legal battle. By doing so Superhero's will get paid and the goverment will have something to do with ther lives. It's like making superheros into Super-Police. I don't wanna spoil to many detials but here a taste.........................


There was a tragedy that took place and 600 or so ppl and kids died. So young heros were responsable so the goverment forced it's hand in the Super-Human Registration Act. Iron Man is the front runner for this on the goverment side. He wants The Super's to unmask and sign up. ( I don't think he really wants to but so far he does. ) For all the hero's that don't want to unmask it becomes a crime. So now your hunted down and treated like a criminal. Captin America has opted to go underground and not unmask. With him so far is Daredevil and Falcon. The Fantastic 4 has no need to un mask but from what is going on with them, the team may be devided, and Johnny is in the Hospital from a civil attack. Spiderman is caught between following Iron Man and going into hiding ( BIG SUPRISE FOR SPIDERMAN FANS ). Also the X-Man are caught into this also. Wolverine is not to happy but only time will tell on how the X-Men respond.

So far i've read issues 1 and 2. There are tie in but they are not a need to read. Being that I love Spiderman i picked up those, issues 529 - 538 are all Tie-In's. If you wnat to follow your fav hero pick up this series and ther Tie-In's.

More to come once I get the X-Men and Iron man ones.
 
All I can remember is the end of the Onslaught Saga. The superheroes all unite and beat him, and all the regular people turn against them.
 
Spud if your a comic fan check this saga out. this may be the best thing to ever happen in the Marvel Universe. Each Hero taks a stand on something that is not cut black in white it's shades of grey only. If some Heros umask they are putting Friedns and familes at risk. it also means that the Goverment then tells them what to do and who to save. In Amazing Spiderman 531 Spidey said this "If you start deciding on what sorts of thing sSupers SHOULD get involed with, then you start eliminating the things they should NOT get involed with. But Guys's like me get INVOLED sometimes because Nobody Else will...because it's not in the rule book, or it's politically inconvient, or it's too weird, or SIMPLY BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE CARES." Thers's more but I don't wanna give out the whole thing. In truth it makes since but it can back fire. As far as story this is something that everybody how liks Marvel gets.
 
The end of issue 2 pissed me off, way to ruin a great character. Civil War so far has been good, especially with the bad ass Captain America, but Marvel has a long way to go if they want to stop getting their asses handed to them by DC
 
Spiderman UNMASKED to the world. Shocking to me it is. Never thought he would side with Iron Man. Ok so for those who have not been up to what going on if you care listen good.

The Superhuman Registration Act has taken full effect. Tony Stark Being the one head-lining the whole thing wants the heroes to sign an register. Captain America has opted to go under ground. Spiderman has Unmasked to the world and hell as just broken loose. Now that the world no who he is the hate now comes. In this issue ( #533) we see civilians giving him hell. JJ has sent him a $5 million law suit for contract infringement and what not. Pete may be sued by a guy who tried to shoot him because Pete webbed the gun and it blew up. These are things that can happen once the world knows who you are. It’s kinda like an take on Disney The Incredibles when Superhero’s can be sued for saving someone. But things get even better. Right after everything that has went on with Spiderman, Tony hits CNN to go on record to say this “ Over the last 10 years I have determined the identities of 137 other hero’s. The names not on the list of being registered will be hunt down by Myself, Reed Richards, and SPIDERMAN, with out exception, even Captain America”. The war is going bad.

Mean while in the F4 home world, they are being split right down the middle. Johnny is in a coma, Reed has sided with Tony, Sue is torn and thinks it’s wrong. Ben is just in the middle and dose not know what to think. Also in the F4 ( #538 ) Thor’s Hammer has landed on Earth and Doom and others have lined up to try to pick up the Hammer, but guess who come’s in to pick up the hammer ? Next issue I’ll find out.


Now as for the teams, The New Avengers are split Ms. Marvel, The F4, Iron Man, and Spiderman are just a few who are own the team to register. Back with more later.
