Gaming platforms are never a long term investment. That being said, game platforms have a life span of 3-4 years being top notch and then being shadowed by next next generation.

MMORPGs are the way to go. So much fun in a huge world. After playing only mmo's for a few years I cannot go back to single player. That's just me!

Games are cheaper today than they were ... a few years ago. That being said, the quality has dropped also. Companies shipping unpolished games or even broken. Also it seems that is a new thing to sell a game in alpha state and tag users as testers.
