    Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Review

It's also worth noting that with respect to the sound, Amon Tobin did the soundtrack to this game (and just released the corresponding record, too.) One question I still have after reading this review is about the variety of the missions. From the way that Carlos described the gameplay, it...

Got my PSP today. Whats a DS again?

I recently got to try a PSP out, with DarkStalkers and Wipeout. The screen looks just fantastic and I was impressed by how smoothly the games ran. DarkStalkers played well enough as I button-mashed my way to glory, and Wipeout felt great until the turns sent me careening into the walls - just...

    Idea

Going back to the content itself, there's a lot of merit in this idea, especially since there's never any downtime for sports in general. Baseball and NCAA (well, too late for that now) were already mentioned, the NBA playoffs are about to start, and the European Champions League tournament is...

    Women in Videogames

A couple of people indirectly touched on this theme, but it bears being said explicitly: indeed, there are hunky men portrayed in videogames along with sexy women, but the important difference is that the women are hypersexualized much more often than the guys are. Pick an average square-jawed...

    Debating the 10 Best

For real. I mean, where's Gabriel Knight and Guybrush Threepwood at? Heh, I suppose that's why it's "10 of the Best" and not "The 10 Best".

    Super bowl commercials

Wish I'd seen them! Instead, I had to endure Global Canada ads... for itself. They must have sold only about half the ad space.

    Forced to be a prostitute

Who knows what to believe? [a href=http://www.snopes.com/media/notnews/brothel.asp]Snopes.com[/a] is reporting that the story is in fact more embellishment than truth. Apparently there were some articles suggesting this as a hypothetical possibility, but no specific cases of forced brotheldom...

    Name that tune...please

Only thing that comes to mind is the Stereo MCs old hit, "Step It Up". The lyrics there go something like "To the left / To the right / Step it up, step it up, it's all riiight".

    Katamari Damacy

Heh, I admire that kind of simplicity. I happen to come from a long line of packrats, so getting rid of any games gives me shivers in my stomach.

    Suikoden IV

What did Konami do wrong to this one? The demo left me a bit cold, but I haven't tried the full version so I can't go bashing it or anything. I do like that Konami had a thing on their website where you could get a free soundtrack CD (and other stuff if you had the game/artbook).

    About Us page

Well, I personally may very well be those things, but I wouldn't assume the same of everyone else. :y: Just sayin', is all.

    About Us page

One thing that struck me regarding the About Us page is that for a webpage concerning the people behind the site, there's not a whole lot of warmth. We could all be holed up in a maquiladora pounding out the words with guns to our backs or a intelligent troupe of trained chimps for all the...

    I can't believe this.....

Yeah, I definitely agree about forming emotion attachments over fake-named players. Still got fond memories of Doug Mitchell, my record-setting running back in the original Front Page Sports: Football, who got tons of yards mainly because I couldn't figure out how to get a consistent passing game.

    I can't believe this.....

Even if an NFL football game with fake player names were released, there's enough dedicated fans to produce an "unofficial" roster patch in a quick period of time. It's done for sims like Out of the Park Baseball (never even touched the "fake" league there myself) and even for EA's NCAA console...

Where are the reviews for new games?

I'll definitely concur with the need for more previews. The Hot Previews and New Previews lists look a bit odd with half the games on each already in stores, for at least a couple of months in many cases.

    I can't believe this.....

Yeah, that's a good point. They've still got Madden tied up for this year, too, so I guess they can take their sweet time rebranding the interface, especially with no big competition.

    I can't believe this.....

Crazy. I wonder how long they've had this deal under wraps; the next version of NCAA and Madden must be at least halfway tohrough development, and it'd really be pressing it to rebrand everything if they only started now.
