SCEA President and CEO Kaz Hirai announced at Sony’s press conference that due to the success of the PSP it would be getting a Greatest Hits collection later this year. Hirai said that the company has shipped more than 17 million PSPs worldwide, and expects to ship another 12 million before year’s end.
Five titles have already been selected as the first batch of Greatest Hits games for the PSP: [I]ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin Trails, Ape Escape: On The Loose, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, Twisted Metal: Head On[/I], and [I]WipEout Pure[/I]. To qualify for a Greatest Hits title a game must have been on the market for at least nine months and sold 250,000 units or more.
