While Americans are still looking forward to the upcoming Final Fantasy XII, developer Square Enix gave them one, rather, three new reasons to be excited about the future of the franchise. Final Fantasy XIII, the series' first PS3 entry, was unveiled at E3 in a stunning real-time trailer.
However, Square Enix impressing us with a great Final Fantasy trailer is nothing new, in fact, it's almost a given nowadays. What is really surprising is the fact that SE is planning on releasing three FFXIII titles, called Final Fantasy XIII: Fabula Nova Crystallis ( Latin for 'the new tale of the crystal' ). For starters, there is the premiere title, Final Fantasy XIII. There are also two more titles, called Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PS3, and also Final Fantasy Agito XIII for mobile platforms. All three games are said to take place in the same universe, but do not directly relate to each other. Final Fantasy Versus XIII's footage was designed by the team behind the jaw-dropping Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, and the in-game action will be handled by the team who did Kingdom Hearts 2. Nothing much is known about Final Fantasy Agito XIII, except that you will need a good mobile to play it, and that it will deliver a mobile game ahead of its time. Keep checking back at mygamer.com for more details on all three of these FFXIII titles!
